Oh my aching sides – this circus just keeps getting better and better. It would be the joke of the decade if it were not so serious and people were dying and the farmers of the EU were not going out of business because no one is buying their vegetables.
The story from the German authorities seems to be one of musical chairs or throw down the cards with a possible source and just pick one.
First the Spaniards were blamed as the source of this outbreak, then it was cucumbers, but no now it’s lettuce, but wait it’s tomatoes, oh but nope it’s actually organic sprouts. Uhh, no it’s not them either.
Are you KIDDING ME! This is ridiculous and is doing nothing but scaring the public with a bunch of useless fear-mongering and misinformation.
But then I have to put some of the blame on the public that they actually are paying any attention to this farce. If people had any sense, they would simply wash their veggies – well – and their hands and go from there. Not too hard really.
What this seems to amount to is an attack on all producers of fresh, healthy food. Consumers in EU are turning away from the fresh produce out of fear even though they have said that all these products are actually not the cause of the outbreak. Seems that too many missed that report. Or maybe they are hearing too many different things so feel that eliminating everything is best for now.
While I can certainly sympathize with them, the effect of all of this is causing a huge impact on the farmers of the EU as people are not buying their products. This falls right into the agenda that has been in place for a number of years to remove all healthy food products from the diet of the EU population.
Traditionally in all of the EU countries, fresh, local, healthy food has been the way of life. They have tended to not have the large corporate farms mono-cropping like we do in this country. Could that be one very important reason why the EU countries have a lot healthier populations than we do in this country? You don’t see 60% of their populations being classified as being obese.
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that:
"The Lower-Saxony state agriculture ministry said 23 of 40 samples from the sprout farm suspected of being behind the outbreak have tested negative for the highly aggressive, "super-toxic" strain of E. coli bacteria… In a surprising U-turn, German officials said initial tests published Monday provided no evidence that sprouts from an organic farm in northern Germany were the cause of the country’s deadly Escherichia coli outbreak."
What? Did you not just say that it was the sprouts – now sorry you goofed? Of course you did.
Ok, there is a very real outbreak of a serious new disease strain, that is a fact. Just where it came from is really the question as it simply could not have developed in the natural world and all of a sudden showed up like it did. Somebody, somewhere created this little bug and put into the food supply – and on something that could never have created it to begin with – vegetables. Now can they carry it – of course they can and do – but they are not the source of the infection and never can be.
The result of this is that sales of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and sprouts with others have gone to the basement all over Europe. But there is no evidence at all that any of these are to be blamed as the source of the E-Coli contamination.
The public is turning to processed foods because they are afraid of fresh foods. That is the wrong thing to do, but then the public often does the wrong thing sadly.
People think about this. Food safety is important to all of us all over the world. But changing fresh healthy food for a processed GMO contaminated and pesticide filled DEAD FOOD is not going to make you hale and hearty for the long term. Just the opposite in fact.
So instead of panicking, just use some simple precautions such as washing everything very well – keep yourself healthy with supplements – boost your immune system with probiotics and natural herbals especially garlic and ginger such as Dr. Joshling has in his store. Doing that is far better and healthier than simply stopping anything fresh in your diet because of a remote chance of you becoming sick.
